The beautiful Golden Retriever that was found on campus last week has been re-homed. We want to thank our very own American University of Sharjah Alumna Parmis Nadali, an avid animal healer and rescuer. Nadali, with her team, were the ones who found and rescued the Retriever, took him to The City Vet in Dubai and worked out to re-home him.
“As an AUS Alumni and a rescuer, I take this opportunity to raise awareness about one of the biggest acts of humanity, the animal welfare,” said Nadali, who graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the American University of Sharjah College of Architecture, Art and Design in 2013 and now pursuing her Masters in Sustainable Design in The British University in Dubai. “Please, please do remember to contact rescuers if you no longer wish to keep your dog or cat. They will be happy to take them from you. Don’t just let them go or abandon them on the streets. On the other side, if you wish to foster or adopt a cat or a dog, please also contact us or any shelter and we would be happy to assist you in this matter.”
Nadali volunteers for animal advocacy and she spends her spare time to spread animal safety awareness and to seek foster and permanent homes for rescued dogs and cats.
“My future plan is to expand my work as a healer and rescuer into a bigger organization, where I may even be able to train others in animal healing, aside from running the business I operate now,” said Nadali who helps run her family’s business. “At the end of the day, what I care most about is to see that animals are being kept safe and happy.”
According to Nadali, even though there is a large community of rescuers and rescue organizations in the UAE that care about the mental and physical well-being of dogs and cats, they all prefer to take them from homes rather than rescuing them from the streets.
To help reduce and eliminate the presence of abandoned dogs and cats on campus, we want to remind the AUS community that if you are an owner and you no longer want to keep your animal, there are a number of organizations such as Dogs in Dubai and The Bin Kitty Collective that can help you re-home them. Please contact them and they would be happy to take the pet from you.
